Club members come out to celebrate Daron and Alison's final hunt, Millington, March 16th 2013

The weather gods finally gave us a break for the not- to- be- missed final meet of an incredible season, and an unforgettable decade of hunting with Alison and Daron Beeney. The meet brought out a large and enthusiastic group of fox hunters including Ellie Wood Keith Baxter, our most senior, celebrated and founding member who rode with MFH Carol Easter and W. Patrick Butterfield. The day brought us many foxes, beginning with a fast running red that ran across the back of Midway on the rocky outcropping into Palmer's field across the Moorman's river below Millington. Many of the three flights of riders lead by Reynolds Cowles, Kip Holloway and Liz King viewed the young red fox as he barely escaped the pack in full cry. That was just the beginning- four hours and many runs later, having covered every inch of territory between Millington,Midway, Fox Ridge, Hunting Ridge and crossing back and forth both rivers, a satisfied crowd of riders and foot followers returned to the parking area at the Fennells' Millington Farm for a 2 pm tailgate feast to celebrate the Beeneys, and to bid them a fond farewell. MFH Bok Summers led the company in a toast to the fine sport and friendship we have enjoyed with these superb professional hunt staff for the last 12 years. Thank you Fennells and Birdsalls for once again providing excellent land to hunt across, and to the FHC staff who make it all happen. Most of all, Thank you Alison and Daron for giving us such a great hunting experience, We will miss you.
