FHC Afternoon Fun Show, July 24, 2013, Millington Stables

Over 50 horses and riders and many more spectators joined the fun at the 2nd Annual Summer Fun Show, which began with a hunter show during the afternoon, with the inaugural obstacle class being held outside the ring simultaneously, where horses had to tackle challenges such as riding through simulated vines, opening and closing a mailbox, raising a bucket on a rope slung over a tree, etc. More and more people were arriving around 5pm as the evening festivities were about to begin, when a monsoon suddenly deposited itself over Free Union. Riders, spectators, and horses scattered to trailers, barns and tents, hoping we could restart as it passed. After the ring turned into a lake, we finally decided to call the show, but many still stayed to enjoy the potluck food under the tent and everyone agreed we needed to reschedule, so now we will have the evening gymkhana and social just after the August 10 jumper show at Millington, starting at 4:30pm.
This show was the result of so many people getting together to spiffy up the grounds and run it smoothly.
