Summary Report and Thank You letter from the Manager, Steve Bickers

June 3, 2013

Even with the rather warm temperatures, we practically matched our turnout from the 2012 Spring Horse Show.  There were actually a few more class entries this year than last, and even a brief thunderstorm did not manage to run our exhibitors away.  As a manager I felt like it was a nice length show with the final class ending just after 5 PM.

Many, many thanks to Melissa and Philip for allowing us once again to invade their farm.  I really do appreciate them putting up with us again this year.

Thanks to my wonderful announcers, Debbie Wright and Anne Grachus, and if ever there was a year when we needed a tent, it was this year.  Between the scorching sun, and the afternoon shower, it was a blessing to be able to find cover.  Many thanks to Scott Nunnally for once again providing us with a tent.  We couldn't have done the show without it. And of course there would have been no chance of getting it done without the competent help of my cheerful secretary staff - Kay Barquin and B J Korol helped us out again in the morning, then it was Robin Lundgren, Anne and Mary Harp who anchored our afternoon shift.  I hope everyone appreciates how much it means to those of us who put on these horse events to have members who will step up and help. I told Reynolds in the morning that I really look forward to running this show every year, and after a pause I think we both came to the same conclusion - I must be a masochist.  With that in mind, let me thank Drew for putting up with yet another edition of my horse show.  I know he groans every year when the clutter that it takes to put on a show appears around the house.  The best part at this point is that it is a year away from the next one.....

 Thanks to all the exhibitors.

Stephen
