Egg and Spoon race was a popular event during the Gymkhana! (photo by Liz King)Wednesday July 18 FHC hosted a really Fun Show with a special twist-not just traditional hunter classes (including qualifying points for the VHSA), but an afternoon show with fun and games and social event all rolled into one! We had a record setting crowd of entries and a great group of members and spectators who enjoyed a social supper during the gymkhana portion of the event that followed a full afternoon of hunter classes. Fun was had by children of all ages, including some “kids” very young at heart!
Many thanks to Managers Stephanie Guerlain and Liz Uffelman who pulled it all together and the big team of willing volunteers who helped make the evening such a success. Steve Bickers was our judge, Kay Barquin announced, with backup help from Kim Morton, secretaries B.J., Beth and Marilee helped with the desk, Karen Bull and Joy Crompton manned the gate, and members and friends served as jump crew. Millington faithfuls Melissa and David Slutzky, Genger and McKenzie Borton helped the crew and painted jumps. We have no shortage of great cooks who provided grilled burgers and fixings for a fine picnic for the big crowd. Thanks as always to the generosity of Liz King, Gloria Fennell and the entire Fennell family for allowing us to be at Millington Stables for this event.
