The Farmington Spring Horse show took place on an amazingly beautiful day for early June and the horses came out of the woodwork. First of all, everyone needs to thank Melissa and Philip Johnson for letting us have the show at their beautiful Hidden Fox Farm. Without such a nice facility we would never be able to put on such a show. Secondly I would like to thank Scott Nunnally for the use of the big green and white tent. It adds a lot to have such a nice shady space on a sunny late Spring day. Next many thanks to David and Ginger Ashcom not only for the use of their water tank so that we could provide water for the horses, but also for providing us a place to cut cedar for the jumps. Now to our flock of volunteers: thanks to our capable announcers Ken Chapman and Debbie Wright. Kay Barquin, BJ Korol, Mary Harp and Anne Grachus held down the secretary duties. Last but not least, I never could have done it without the patience and support of my faithful sidekick, Drew Perkins. He will tell anyone who will listen that the weeks leading up to the horse show are the longest of the year…
Thanks also to the owners and riders of the 60 horses and ponies that showed this year. We hope they will come back again and tell their friends as well.
