Saturday March 17th Millington provided the venue for a great final meet and wonderful lunch following. Despite record heat in the upper 70's, three fields of Farmington riders and guests followed our pack as they hunted from the front field at Millington, through Midway and Riverdale, across the Ridge Road behind Quail Ridge and onto Schelford where they picked up the scent of a fox that kept the pack running for over an hour. As riders on sweaty mounts peeled off to go back to the meet, a hearty few kept up as the hounds raced back and forth along the Moormans River bottom that provided some moisture and cooler temps. At one point the call went out to the road whip car manned by BJ and Gloria Fennell to bring water to Alison who was plenty thirsty. It was a fun day and a valiant effort on the part of our staff and our pack who did not disappoint. Thanks Nancy Howell for providing nice photos to remember the day.

The weekend was not over, that night we enjoyed the "Spill Wine Party" and the next day about 15 FHC riders traveled to Oak Ridge Country to enjoy another festive day of hunting: Here is the report from Pattie and Stephanie; Oak Ridge Hosted FHC and Deep Run March 18th at Tea Time farm. I counted 28 in first flight, 20 in 2nd flight, 12 in 3rd flight, 8 in 4th flight (68 riders), and I don't know how many car-followers (5th flight) - a great turnout!

Thanks Oak Ridge!

As ORH member Keith Pritchard put it.. "It was a great day of hunting and revelry!"

A big turnout from Farmington, Deep Run and Oak Ridge fox hunt clubs, enthusiastic hounds and some good runs despite the hot weather through Tea Time Farm and Fox Den ended another great season.

ORH is known for fabulous tailgate parties and didn't disappoint. Neighbors of Rita Mae had their famous pit cooked pork BBQ boldly spiced and there was plenty of amazing food and ample beverages. No one who attended need to eat for a week.

The highlight of the day in many opinions was half way through the hunt the tuxedo adorned stewards, Mr. Robb and Mr. Migliore, handed out glasses of Kluge champagne to a grateful and thirsty first, second, third, fourth and "fifth" flights of riders and car followers.
