On October 5, 2019, Farmington hosted a hunt for junior riders to qualify for
the Junior North American Field Hunter Championships. It was held at the lovely
Fox Ridge Farm, thanks to the generosity of Colleen and Brian Bassett.
A great day of fox hunting was had by all with fox crossing back and forth over
the Moorman's river, and covering many miles. The junior riders had a great run
over 9 miles and showed much skill.
Four talented young riders qualified: Leah Hoffman(60), Kat Ravichandran(61), Josie Galvin (56),
and Evalina Caruccio (57). Many of you know Evalina as she has been hunting with us for a
couple of years on her previous mount, Starr (dark grey appaloosa pony), and now she
is mounted on her new mare, Winnie or her dad's horse, Lady Mary. I am thrilled to
announce that the other 3 ladies, Leah, Kat and Josie, have recently joined Farmington
Hunt Club, and all will be representing FHC at the Junior Champs on November 9th, in The
Plains, Virginia at Old Whitewood farm.
Here are the names of the Qualifiers - all from Farmington Hunt:
First Flight - 12 & under: Josie Galvin on Priceless
Hilltopper - 11 & over:
Leah Huffman on Abby
Katharina Ravichandran on Chester
Evalina Caruccio on Straccialla
