Farmington Hunt Fun Hunter Pace at Mint Meadows

The Farmington Hunt Club would like to thank the following landowners for allowing us access through their beautiful property on Saturday: John and Mary Scott Birdsall, Wick and Carter McNeely, Alesandro Valmarana and Grey and Sarah McLean. The 5 mile trail ride took us through some of the prettiest views and natural beauty in all of Albemarle County.
I want to thank all the volunteers who brought that delicious food (which was completely devoured by the time the last guest left). Robin Ellis generously gathered a bounty of desserts, which I thought was over the top. The tables were blessed with gorgeous flower arrangements by Melissa Morrison (Maggies’s Mom!!) Karen Bull was my drink gal again this year, thank you for keeping us hydrated after a particularly warm day on the trail! Brian Barquin, Janet and Robert Deane and Bobbie Wells were my jump spotters, photographer and water station volunteers (along with Ruby and Missy!).
My secretaries were Jebb Cuthbert, Mary Minor Henderson and BJ Korol who kept the line short and riders moving on. Chris Cuthbert, Michelle Fultano and Linda Hashcart were our timers and instructors for the day.
Liz King set up a wonderful trail and kept us from crossing that high, deep and flowing river that was sure to be a challenge after all that rain the previous week. She knows her way around all the properties in our hunt country but Mint Meadows is her backyard and she uses every acre if she can!
Matthew, Julie, Tommy and Grady once again put up that darn tent in a perfect spot to keep us cool. I always appreciate the amount of work it takes to put a big tent like that up and then pull it down again in a day. Grady weed-eated around many of the trails and jumps for us too. Thank you, we really appreciated it!
A double shout out to Michelle and BJ who helped me set up and stayed to help clean everything up at the end of the day. Thank you BJ for being my “second arm” for the day............Oh did you not notice?
