Madeline Harp, Pippa Cook, Hannah Buss, were all Junior Handlers 2014
The 2014 Puppy Show was a wonderful success largely thanks to Matthew, Julie, and Tommy and the eleven special pups who will make up our new entry in September. Everyone enjoyed Sherry and Forbes Pimm's Cup before and during the festivities. The puppies showed well for judge Jake Carle, ex-MFH of Keswick Hunt. The Best Bitch trophy was awarded to Swallow (walked by the Hanks) and Best Dog to Robber (walked by the Chapmans). Second place bitch was Royal (walked by the Cooks) and second place dog was Swizzle (walked by the Hanks). Swallow received the Grand Champion trophy. Following this traditional part of the puppy show Pat Butterfield recognized our three juniors: Emma Bittle, Taryn Cowles, and Pippa Cook for receiving the Fairly Hunted Award from MFHA. Then we had our first ever Junior a Handler class which was the brainchild of Julie Cook and masterfully orchestrated by Matthew. Five youngsters had the opportunity to lead and show some of our older hounds under Matthew's direction. If you missed this you missed one of the more entertaining events of the year! Sixty plus people then attended the delicious and plentiful dinner at the clubhouse provided by the membership. The evening included a group sing of Happy Birthday to celebrate Matthew's birthday.
