The 2014 Hunters Dinner
From the Co-Chairs of this Years’ Hunters Dinner, Carolyn Chapman and Lucia Evans-Morse sending out a huge thank all of you who made this event such a successful one. In the spirit of the Hunt Club, we all once again joined in and made this a great party! Despite the necessity to re-schedule the date due to snow, we had about 85 guests. The fire was lit and the hunt club was cozy.
The Food was fantastic and thank you to these contributors:
Wine courtesy of The Chapmans
Trump Vineyard Sparkling WIne from Mark and Mimi Combs
Duck Poppers and Smoked Salmon from The Suttons
Smoked Venison Dip from Schelford
Grilled Chesapeake Oysters from The Chapmans
Local Cheeses from The Chapmans
Spare ribs from Timbercreek Organics prepared by Peter Delany
Duck from Suttons & Cooked by the Chefs at the Club
Roasted Quail & Grilled Venison from The Cowles
Venison Curry by Tom Bishop
California Shrimp from the Johnsons
Cheese and Basil Orzo from The Chapmans
Roasted New Potatoes & Breads from Lucia Evans-Morse
Vegetable Salad from The Butterfields
Caesar Salad from Sam Wells
Desserts by Debbie Wright.
Grenelle Delany was responsible for the beautiful décor that really set the stage for the dinner. Ken Chapman, Thoma Johnson and Wick McNeely expertly manned the bar. Tripp and Reynolds Cowles were masters on the grill and kept the food coming at a good pace. Carter McNeely had the key spot as secretary on the desk. During the evening we had such wonderful help getting all of this food out and getting cleaned up from all of the above mentioned. There were several very generous monetary donations from friends who wanted to contribute but could not attend, to those of you who donated in cash, Thank You! Everyone chipped in and made this event work. We are all so thankful to have such a great membership.
Many thanks,
Carolyn and Lucia
