An enthusiastic field of membersof three hunts came together for delightful day's hunting over the country surrounding Mint Meadows and Schelford. All day and night before the meet heavy drenching downpours had made for high water and soft footing, but riders were undaunted by slick conditions over Birdsall's land on the Mint Meadows-Schelford side of the Mechums river. Hounds provided steady sport chasing multiple red foxes through the woods along the river and over the fields in between. Several excellent views were reported, one occurring right under the noses of the second flight near the training barn at Schelford.Huntsman Matthew Cook and staff kept the pack on task and provided everyone with a fine day's ride before morning sun gave way to darkening skies and temperatures dropped another 15 degrees.
FHC cooks put on a generous spread of hot stews and soups, sandwiches and all the fixings to warm our guests and send them on their way after another great hunt. See photos by Stephanie Guerlain
