Farmington Hunt hosted juniors for the 2011 North American Field Hunter Championships at Millington on October 22. There were a handful of participants including our returning Junior member and last year's ribbon winner, Emily Digney, some who had qualified for the Championship at other hunts and wore a ribbon button to distinguish them.Judges, Lucy Warren from Keswick-Deep Run and our own Deborah Wray were judges for the day.It was a perfect October morning. Green fields and leaves changing. Temperatures just right! Hound hit twenty minutes into the hunt. Unfortunately, they were chasing a juvenile bear – “Boo-Boo”. Whips called hounds off and hunting continued taking all to Morrowdale, Midway and Ridge Road. Hounds were active and did get on a Grey Fox in the Hunting Ridge/Fox Ridge Woods.Members, juniors and visitors were all treated to good sport at one of our premier fixtures followed by a plethora of delicious food, thanks to the Millington Ladies!
