The Farmington Hunt hosted foxhunting friends from Middleburg Virginia last weekend with a perfect weekend of two hunts and hunt breakfasts and a hound dinner at the clubhouse Saturday night. Members and spectators  had a memorable morning riding out over the fields and woods near Millington, including Ellie Wood Baxter, our living legend and founding member who kept up with the field and MFH Pat Butterfield as we hunted over 10 miles of country. Matthew Cook and BRH huntsman led visiting BR hounds who gave chase to multiple foxes, starting with a melodious chase through the Millington barnyard in full view of hilltoppers with fieldmaster Liz King, and two junior hunters riding ponies on leadlines with Jona Pilion and Julie Cook. see more photos

The Hound dinner and Sponsorship Auction was held on a beautiful evening October 18th at the clubhouse with nearly 120 guests and members coming out to support our hounds! Report  from Carol Ham (10/20/14): (see Haschart photos!)(see Barnes Photos)

Thank you to our members and out guests from the Blue Ridge Hunt for a fabulous evening! The club was absolutely beautiful! We had an overflowing house filled with energy and excitement from the day's hunt with the Blue Ridge Hounds . Pat Butterfield regaled us with colorful stories of days past with the FHC Hounds and brought lots of laughter and fun while Reynolds brought us up to speed on Opal's puppies and Swallow as a new entry this year. What a celebration of "our hounds"!

A special thank you to everyone who made this such an amazing evening. Evie Cowles, Shelly Thompson, Jennifer Cofield and Bonnie Hanks made up the illustrious "committee" and a huge thanks goes out to them for the months of preparation to plan such a superb evening. Reynolds Cowles, as emcee and auctioneer; Pat Butterfield, as historian and keynote speaker; Joy Crompton for hosting Blue Ridge Hunt ( horses and hounds); Mark Thompson, sommelier; Paul King, sound system; Stephanie and Bob, FHC Hound Slide show; Kay Barquin, reservations; B.J. Korol, overall assistance. Also thanks to all who so generously gave of their time to decorate the club and to help with the clean up last night.

It is really great to be a member of FHC!
